Who is the Wessex Alto Trombone designed for?
It is ideal for professional orchestral musicians, conservatoire students, brass teachers, advanced amateurs and tenor trombonists looking to perform authentic alto trombone repertoire.
Why choose an alto trombone?
The Eb alto trombone provides a brighter, lighter sound and greater agility than a tenor trombone, making it the preferred instrument for much of the Classical and early Romantic orchestral repertoire.
Can tenor trombone players easily switch to alto?
Yes. Many orchestral trombonists double on alto trombone. After a short adjustment to the shorter slide positions and higher pitch, most experienced tenor players adapt quickly.
Does it include a case?
Yes, the instrument is supplied with a fitted protective case and mouthpiece.
