Designed in the tradition of the legendary American tubas of the past, the Wessex TB692 "Grand" BBb tuba delivers an unrivalled, rich broad tone to lay a solid foundation under any band or orchestra.
Modernized for superior response and exceptional intonation, this flagship 6/4 tuba was designed in collaboration with Chuck Nickles (formerly of the US Army Band, Europe) to meet the exact acoustic and ergonomic demands of symphonic low-brass performers.
Handcrafted from 0.9mm 70/30 high-grade brass with a hardened bell and all-nickel slides, the TB692 features vented stainless steel valves for smooth legato playing, Wyvern-engraved valve buttons, and a stunning Gold Brass (84/16) bell option on lacquered models.
With a graduated 0.75” to 0.77” bore, a massive 20” bell, and an included Wessex CHUCK custom mouthpiece, this horn combines massive acoustic projection with effortless response.
Every instrument is individually quality checked and approved by Chuck Nickles before leaving the factory, and ships in a durable latched hard case. (Note: The correct gig bag for this tuba is the B800).

You can return any item bought from Wessex Tubas within 14 days of receiving it for a full refund, minus shipping costs. However, please contact us before returning your item so we can provide you with return labels and a collection booking with our dedicated courier to ensure the safe return of your item/s. When returning the item, it must be in its original packaging and in ’as received’ condition. Please note that shipping charges apply to refund upon return of your item and any damage will also result in reduced refund.
