Javier Monteagudo Mañas (Quart de Poblet - Valencia, 1988) holds a PhD in Art: Production and Research from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, a Master’s Degree in Musical Research from the Valencian International University and a Degree in Tuba Performance from the “Joaquin Rodrigo” Music Conservatory of Valencia.

He studied with Gene Pokorny and Charles Schuchat at the Chicago College of Performing Arts in the Roosevelt University of Chicago where he received a Professional Diploma in Orchestral Studies. He was member of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and has been invited to play with the Valencian Community Orquestra-Palau de Les Arts, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Spanish National Orchestra and the Galician Symphony Orchestra.

Javier has been awarded First Prize in the Tuba Competitions of “Vila Joiosa” 2011, “Vila d’Altea” 2003 and Chamber Music of Manresa 2008. Between 2017 and 2021, he was member of the Municipal Wind Band of Badajoz and Tuba Professor at the “Rafael Orozco” Music Conservatory of Cordoba. Since 2021, he is the Tuba Professor at the Higher Music Conservatory of A Coruña where he also conducts the Brass Band. In addition, he is developing an intense research work in the field of musical education and learning. Javier plays a CC 6/4 Tuba 'Chicago-York' Wessex model.
