Wessex Tubas Recognised by Rolling Stone UK for Quality & Craftsmanship

We are thrilled to share that Wessex Tubas has been featured in a recent article by Rolling Stone UK, highlighting our commitment to crafting affordable, professional-grade brass instruments with expert craftsmanship. This recognition from such a prestigious publication underscores the quality and dedication we invest in every instrument we produce.

Since our founding in 2012 by tubist Jonathan Hodgetts, Wessex Tubas has been dedicated to making high-quality brass instruments accessible to musicians of all levels. Our journey began with a single pallet of four tubas sold from a back room in Andover, UK, and has grown into a global endeavour, providing a wide range of brass instruments to players worldwide.

The Rolling Stone UK article emphasises our continuous efforts to test, redesign, and refine the quality of our instruments annually. Notably, we have begun fabricating brass instruments using German brass, known for its smoother sound and increased durability, ensuring that a Wessex instrument is a lifelong tool to cherish and make music.

To meet the increasing demand for high-quality and affordable brass instruments across Europe, we will also be opening a showroom and distribution hub in Castellón, Spain, in the coming year.

This recognition from Rolling Stone UK is a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality and innovation in the world of brass instruments. We are honoured to be acknowledged by such a renowned publication and remain dedicated to providing exceptional instruments to musicians around the globe.
