It is now almost a year since I announced that Wessex Tubas was planning to develop a new compensated BBb Bass and got a lot of responses from players in bands at all levels to try and give feedback - much appreciated!
I am pleased to say that development is now well underway. We had a big technical problem earlier in the year, but have now resolved and we are now near the stage where just a few more tweaks and I think we will have a prototype to show and for you to try. I played the first prototype today and think it will resolve most of the issues with existing BBb Basses on the market, in particular it has a really open low register combined with better ergonomics.
Expect more news next winter, and I hope in Spring 2025 after the regionals to be able to tour around with our new baby for you to try and give feedback, before we finalise the design. I am determined for this to be the best compensated BBb bass ever made.
